Personal Fencing Equipment

Anyone continuing fencing must purchase their own electric épée and body cord. Buying your own glove is also recommended. Fencing equipment can easily be purchased from the Allstar Finland online store.

Those continuing fencing for a longer period are advised to obtain their own mask, fencing pants, jacket, chest protector (for women), and plastron (underarm and torso protector for the weapon arm).

License and Insurance

Everyone participating in Habda’s training sessions must have a fencing license issued by the Finnish Fencing and Modern Pentathlon Federation.

During the beginner course, participants were insured under Habda’s group accident insurance. After the course, obtaining insurance coverage is the responsibility of each individual fencer. Habda does not insure recreational fencers.

Through Suomisport, you can purchase an affordable and comprehensive Sporttiturva insurance policy offered by the federation. Read more about licenses and insurance on the Finnish Fencing Federation’s website.
